One of Buffalo’s largest and longest-anticipated redevelopment projects is currently underway with the conversion of the former Trico Manufacturing Plant to a vibrant mixed-use project in the heart of the city.
When completed, the building will enclose 520,000 square feet spanning 7 floors. Plans for the redevelopment divide the usable area into apartment and commercial tenant space. Permanent tenants will be able to choose from 242 market-rate apartments on most floors of the building, in studio, one, two and three bedroom floor plans. Additionally, the entire lower level and parts of the first and second floors will be dedicated to interior parking, apropos of the building’s long automotive heritage. Selective and thoughtful demolition of parts of the interior core will create a new courtyard, providing natural light to the building’s deeper central spaces and serving as entry and drop-off points for hotel guests, apartment tenants and office workers.
Located adjacent to the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, the hotel will offer an extended-stay option for visitors, patients and professionals, not otherwise available in the immediate area. Directly south is Buffalo’s theater district and its many cultural and nightlife destinations, offering a rich neighborhood for residents to take in. Commercial tenants will enjoy fully customizable buildout spaces and access to dense urban neighborhoods bordering the site.
Conveniently, the entrance to the Kensington Expressway is only two blocks away, giving building users quick and direct access to the entire city and region, while the Allen-Medical metro station is two blocks north on Main Street.
The $108 million project is made possible by a variety of incentives, including Federal and State Historic Tax Credits, New York State Brownfield Tax Credits, an ECIDA inducement, and a grant from National Grid.

]]>The Krog Corp. performed design and construction for the Hisotric Renovation of Ansorge Block Building.
Under threat of a failing roof structure collapse The Krog Corp. entered into an agreement to phurchase this building with the local government in order to provide expertise in design and construction to shore the existing structural system and design to construct structural removal and replacement. After the completion of the roof replacement, development of the second floor was started into three upscale apartment units, this provided a unique Market Street residential component to the revitalization of this important and historic building.
Commercial development for the first and third floor spaces are underway to complete the occupancy and restoration of this former anchor of Market Street.
